A1 print exploring and ultimately testing the ability of digital print.
Each part is motivated in design by mistakes: outcropping, misfeeding, warping and under-sizing.
CMYK is the 'colour theme' and also the digital communication is also depicted -
Each half-oval being unit and all between depicting message.
First. Paper misfed/paper jam.
Second. Mis-sizing image.
Third. Construct:
A template for design, a tight uniform of very fine lines manipulated to recreate these very errors and at the same time allowing the next layer to permeate the next at regulated intervals.
The extraordinarily minute and tightness of line will create a confusing visual effect in the the case of each image alone when printed, so layering them will be an experiment in itself.
Fourth. Warp incurred by overloading of ink.
Ideas
i. Elements of design.
Each part, each a layer upon the next,
in the likeness of mistakes in communication
and process of printing.
ii. Form of Elements, Form of Design.
A form that is only ever possibly made
using this medium that is Digital print
- questioning the capabilities of it all
and proving them exclusive.
